● साहाय्यकारी क्रियापदांची संक्षिप्त रूपे – HELPING VERBS
● साहाय्यकारी क्रियापद व not ला एकत्र करून किंवा काही सर्वनाम व साहाय्यकारी क्रियापदांना एकत्र करून तयार केलेली रूपे अनौपचारिक लेखनात आणि बोलण्यात वारंवार वापरली जातात. अशी रूपे खाली दिलेली आहेत. सविस्तर छापलेली आहेत

- could not =couldn’t
- do not = don’t
- does not = doesn’t

● सर्वनाम व साहाय्यकारी क्रियापदे एकत्र करताना am चे ‘m, are चे ‘re, is चे ‘s, had चे ‘d, would चे सुद्धा ‘d, have चे ‘ve, has चे ‘ऽ आणि will चे II होते असे वरील उदाहरणांवरून लक्षात येते.
● होकारार्थी संक्षिप्त रूपे (जसे I’m, we’ve, he’s) वाक्याच्या शेवटी वापरली जात नाहीत. म्हणजे ते तयार नाहीत पण मी आहे’ हे वाक्य इंग्रजीमधे They are not ready but l am असे होईल. या वाक्यात शेवटी I am चे संक्षिप्त रूप I’m वापरता येणार नाही.
● पण नकारार्थी संक्षिप्त रूप वाक्याच्या शेवटी वापरले जाऊ शकते. जसे, ते तयार आहेत पण आम्ही नाही = They are ready but we aren’t.
त्याला हे आवडतं पण मला आवडत नाही. = He likes this but I don’t.
